Air pollution caused by woodburners and open fires is Canterbury’s main air pollution problem. To help reduce the problem there are rules about what types of heating can now be installed, subsidies to help with the cost of replacing old heating systems, and information on energy-efficiency measures such as insulation and how to use a woodburner effectively.
