New Zealand is a nation of volunteers. In Canterbury there are 258 third sector/not-for-profit organisations mobilising communities to improve our environment. Every year thousands of native plants are planted by volunteers to create habitat for our indigenous wildlife, bird surveys are completed on our braided rivers and our urban streams are cleared of rubbish.

We support a number of community initiatives through our funding programmes, youth engagement opportunities, earthquake recovery efforts, wilding pine/pest control, biodiversity projects and clean air initiatives We also provide sponsorship for some community events. If you want us to consider sponsoring your event, fill out our request for assistance or get in touch with customer services and ask to speak to the Community Partnerships Coordinator.
