Once you have entered the map the web site will ask you to accept the terms and conditions then choose what type of map you would like to view. The maps have been tailored for a particular purpose so that the user can obtain the right information easier. The maps are grouped by 8 or more major categories. As seen below in the following images.

Canterbury Maps now has a free app that can be downloaded from the New Zealand Apple iTunes store and put on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch devices. Based on the standard web viewer application, the app has been optimised to run on these devices. They feature the same functionality as their web cousin, and access exactly the same content that you see on your browser.

Similar apps are in production for Android and Windows phone users which will hopefully be available later on this year.
