| 1 | Installation shall be undertaken within five years of the commencement of this authorisation. |
| 2 | The only fuel to be used in this appliance shall be wood that meets the following criteria conditions:
(i) less than 25% moisture (dry weight),
(ii) has not been treated with preservatives or impregnated with chemicals or glue,
(iii) is not chipboard, particle board or laminated board, and
(iv) is not painted, stained or oiled.

| 3 | The appliance shall be operated at all times in accordance with the "Installation and Operating Instructions" supplied with each appliance. |
| 4 | There shall be no heat circulation fan fitted to the appliance. |
| 5 | There shall be no water heating device fitted to the appliance. |
| 6 | A permanent label shall be attached to the appliance in a position that is readily visible after installation. The labels shall contain the following information. For items iv, viii, ix, x and xi the letters shall be at least 3mm high.
(i) the manufacturer of the appliance Lansdowne Resource Limited
(ii) the unique model name Ethos Ares
(iii) the unique serial number of the appliance
(iv) the words 'TESTED TO AS/NZS 4013"
(v) the number of the test report in which the appliance is described ARS 02/750
(vi) the authorisation number 03001
(vii) the expiry date of the authorisation 05/03/2013
(viii) the statement "MAXIMUM AVERAGE HEAT OUTPUT BURNING SOFTWOOD 8 kW"
(ix) the statement "OVERALL AVERAGE EFFICIENCY BURNING SOFTWOOD 67%" then below this the statement "when tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4012"
(x) the statement "AVERAGE PARTICULATE EMISSION FACTOR BURNING SOFTWOOD" 0.3g/kg" when tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4013"
(xi) the statement "BURN ONLY UNTREATED WOOD WITH A MOISTURE CONTENT LESS THAN 25% (dry basis)"
(xii) the statement "Performance may vary from test values depending on actual operating conditions".

| 7 | This approval applies only to the specific model described in the testing reports, documents and drawings accompanying the application for authorisation, including:
a) base firebricks with a thickness between 25 and 40 millimetres; and
b) an outer flue shield of not less than 2.4 metres in length installed in all chimneys with a cross-sectional area of 530 square centimetres or more.

| 8 | A certificate shall be submitted to the Canterbury Regional Council within 12 months of approval, and annually thereafter, signed by a competent person, verifying that the model being sold as Ethos Ares, is the same as that which was tested and described in Test Report ARS 02/750. |
