Environment Canterbury’s Education for Sustainability team offers a variety of learning programmes and resources. Our programmes are facilitated by trained teachers, and our resources aim to support you in developing new knowledge and ways of thinking to achieve a sustainable future.
What we offer
Programmes:
We are available to talk with you about your learning programmes and share ideas about how you may weave aspects of education for sustainability into the lessons. We are also on hand to work with classes focusing on natural resource issues that directly relate to the area or topic that you are studying. Contact us to find out about educator availability and how we can help you.
In class:
Our educators can visit your school to facilitate any of our programmes or deliver individual lessons on regional sustainability issues that relate directly to your study theme. Our educators travel the region, so even if you are in a remote area, we may be able to come to your class.
Out in the field:
If your students are studying a particular area in the Canterbury Region, educators are available to meet you and your students ‘on site’ to look at the physical environment and discuss issues facing the area, or just to learn about aspects of the environment, in the environment. It may be a river, lake, estuary, coastal area or hillside.
