Trail bikes are permitted only in designated areas in the Waimakariri River Regional Park.
Following facilities are available:
- purpose built quad bike and trail bike tracks and jumps circuit riding covering an area of 40 hectares catering for a range of skill levels (north side of river, upstream of Taylors Road, access from Taylors Road).
- freedom riding trail bike tracks west of McLeans Island on the south side and the Eyre Diversion on the north side of the river. More tracks are being developed west of McLeans Island.
