If you (or your company or organisation) has a resource consent(s) to either take water or discharge to water or land you will receive an invoice for the Water Science Charge.
These types of consents include ground water and surface water takes as well as discharges to land or water. The discharge consents cover activities such as discharge of animal effluent, industrial storm water,hazardous substances etc. Individual discharges from domestic storm water systems or septic tanks will not incur this charge.
