If your property is listed in the Schedule included in Chapter 3 of the Natural Resource Regional Plan or listed as a category B heritage home in the Waimakariri District Plan, you will be able to continue to use your open fires or solid fuel burners.
There are certain conditions that still need to be met in relation to the fuel you are burning. Also, the solid fuel burner and chimney must be an original feature of the house.
