Variation 14 of the Natural Resources Regional Plan 

Proposed change to Rule WQL8 and WQL9 and related amendments for the discharge of sewage effluent into land from on-site systems Pursuant to Clause 5 of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Canterbury Regional Council (Environment Canterbury) gives notice it has prepared the following variation to Chapter 4, Water Quality of the Proposed Canterbury Natural Resources Regional Plan.

Variation 14 introduces the reduction in separation distances between the point of discharge and groundwater, property boundaries and other discharge systems if drip irrigation land application systems are utilised. In addition, Variation 14 also introduces three other minor changes associated with Rules WQL8 and WQL9.
