The Chapters

The NRRP consists of 8 chapters which address sustainable management of natural resources in the Canterbury Region. Chapter 1 and Chapter 3 are each partly-operative from 27 October 2009, Chapter 2 is operative from 27 October 2009. Chapters 4-8 were added by Variation 1 and are currently "proposed".

Variations/Changes

All proposed plans and variations go through a submission/further submission, hearings, decisions and appeals process prior to becoming "operative". The Variation pages below provide more information on each Variation, including which stage of the variation process they are at. For guidance on this process, see the process page.

Note that once a Chapter of the NRRP becomes operative, any "Variation" on that Chapter will become a "Change".
