Environment Canterbury is the lead agency for gathering and providing information on natural hazards (Resource Management Act 1991) such as floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, storms and snowfall. We are also a joint lead agency with territorial authorities for hazard mitigation and on-ground response after a natural hazard event.
