CRC102491 – to discharge contaminants to air from existing processes associated with the manufacture of insulated copper and aluminium wire, from the operation of a 2.75MW coal fired boiler, a 3.5MW back-up diesel oil fired boiler, six diesel oil fired heaters (total of 760 kW) and three liquefied petroleum gas-fired heater (total of 66 kW) from a factory located at 75-89 Main South Road, Riccarton, Christchurch, at or about map reference NZMS 260 M35:7467:4111. The contaminants include particulate matter, sulphur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, hydrogen chloride, vinyl chloride, lead, zinc, and tin. 

The applicant proposes that a bag filter will be fitted to the coal fired boiler, resulting in a reduction in particulate matter emission concentrations from that boiler. 

The applicant has requested a consent with duration of 20 years to replace existing consent CRC0930470.2 that expired on 6 September 2010.
