The field-days will be held on 19-20 September 2009 in Motukarara Conservation Nursery (DOC), 20 km south of Christchurch. &amp; Field-trips around central Canterbury. Field trips take place on 20 September.<br>

School projects entered for the awards focus on sustainable resource management – ways we can look after and conserve air, land and water. Other project topics involve energy use such as sustainable transport, renewable sources of energy and waste management. <br>

Prize winners from each category have the opportunity to be awarded <a href="http://ecan.govt.nz/advice/your-school/Pages/awards.aspx">Environment Canterbury’s prestigious Wrybill Trophy.</a><br>

Feedback on the draft strategy is being encouraged over the next month. The final strategy will be published at the end of October and will then be presented to local authorities, regional council, Ngai Tahu and Central Government for consideration and eventually adoption.</p>
<p>The Canterbury Water Management Strategy is sponsored by the Canterbury Mayoral Forum and is driven by the Steering Group who represent the wider Canterbury community and its interest groups.</p>
