One of the ways Environment Canterbury manages the natural resources of the region is to ensure that policies and plans are being adhered to, and that resource consent holders are complying with the conditions of their consents. This is the function of Environment Canterbury’s Compliance and Enforcement Section
The Compliance and Enforcement Section is split into 2 teams. The Southern Team is based in Timaru and covers the area from the Waitaki River to the Rakaia River. The Northern Team is based in Christchurch and covers the area from north of the Rakaia River up to Kekerengu (north of Kaikoura).
