Content
The Environment Canterbury Facebook account and Twitter account are managed by the Communications section, on behalf of our organisation.
We use some automation (such as tools which generate tweets from RSS feeds) but also intend to post messages about Environment Canterbury activities.
If you follow us on Twitter, you can expect between 1-2 tweets a day covering some or all of the following:
- Alerts detailing media releases, events, meeting agendas and minutes, consultations.
- Alerts about new content (news, publications, website, publicity campaigns etc).
- Invitations to provide feedback on specific issues on which we are consulting.
- Occasional live coverage of events.
Following us
If you follow, like, or subscribe to us on Twitter, Facebook or YouTube, we will not automatically follow, like, or subscribe to you back. This is to avoid resource-wasting spam handling and so that you can easily identify other key users that you might be interested in. However, being followed, liked, or subscribed to by us does not imply endorsement of any kind.
Availability
- We will update and monitor our Twitter and Facebook accounts during office hours, Monday to Friday.
- Twitter or Facebook may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter or Facebook downtime.
Replies and messages
- We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and endeavour to join the conversation where possible. However, we are not always able to reply individually to the messages we receive via Twitter or Facebook.
- The Communications section does read messages and replies; and endeavours to ensure that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to the relevant people in the Council.
- We cannot engage on issues of party politics or answer questions which break the rules of our general comments policy.
