Environment Canterbury does have provisions for some heritage buildings in Christchurch to be exempt from the winter fire ban.
To find out if your property is listed on the Exempt Heritage Building Schedule (Schedule AQL4) please use the link below, the schedule is on page 323 of the electronic document.
If your property is not part of the schedule then you will not be allowed to use the fire between April and September each year in Christchurch Clean Air Zone 1. In Ranigora, Kaiapoi, and Ashburton Clean Air Zones 1, you are not allowed to use the open fire at any time of the year.
