Training Workshops

Learn about the Erosion and Sediment Control Guidelines and how to implement them in your day-to-day work.

The Guidelines, produced by Environment Canterbury in consultation with the earthworks industry, provide practical advice about on-site measures that help you meet resource consent conditions and prevent waterway and dust-related pollution.

With the help of key sponsors, we are pleased to offer the following workshops:

One-day Training Workshops 2009

For Contractors on earthwork sites (who build, operate, maintain or decommission measures set out in erosion and sediment control plans):

  • Christchurch - April 2009 (Dates are yet to be set. Please contact Ecan to register your interest.)

ESCG two day workshop group

Two-day Training Workshop 2008 & 2009

Not sure which one to attend?

Contractors and consultants are welcome to attend either the one-day or the two-day workshop. In 2007, a number of site managers attending the one-day training workshop expressed interest in the benefits of attending the two-day course.

Local authority staff may attend any of the workshops. The two-day workshop provides the most detail and the opportunity of working with people from the industry. However if you have time constraints or if you only require a general overview, the special one-day for Local Authority staff (on offer in Timaru this year) will be of interest.

Course Objectives and Programmes

The 2008 programmes have not yet been finalised. You may wish to view the programmes from the 2007 workshops below.
